Frequently Asked Questions about Standard Chartered Balance Transfer PLUS
Things you might want to know
Looking for a balance transfer with low interest rates and flexible repayment periods? With Standard Chartered Balance Transfer Plus, you get all that! Plus applying is free!
How does Standard Chartered Balance Transfer work?
Transfer your outstanding credit card balance from other banks to a Standard Chartered Bank credit card. Just choose a period you would like to extend your repayment to, for up to 36 months and a minimum transfer amount of RM1,000.
Then take your time to clear your credit card debt within the balance transfer period.
How will a balance transfer help me save money?
Instead of paying tiered credit card interest rates of 15% to 18% interest p.a. on top of your monthly repayments, Standard Chartered Balance Transfer Plus offers you longer repayment periods at interest rates of 5.99% p.a.
Is there a minimum amount to pay every month?
Standard Chartered Bank requires that you pay full monthly instalment before each payment due date.
What if I fail to make the repayment?
The special balance transfer interest rate of 5.99%p.a. is only applicable for monthly payments made on time. If you are late on your payments or pay less than the full monthly instalment, Standard Chartered Bank will impose tiered interest rates between 15 to 18%p.a. on the remaining balance.
Can I make an early settlement?
Yes, you always have the option of settling your credit card debt earlier than the promised balance transfer period. However, you'll have to settle the outstanding principal and all interest payments up to the next statement date.
Contact the Standard Chartered Bank customer service at 1300 888 888 to find out the amount you will need to pay.
