Revised Budget 2023 Highlights

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has retabled the national Budget for year 2023 in the Parliament today, introducing various adjustments and new initiatives to supersede the previous Budget 2023 that was tabled back in October 2022.

This time featuring an allocation of RM388.1 billion – up from the RM372.3 billion originally earmarked for the initial version of Budget 2023 – Datuk Seri Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said that the revised Budget 2023 contains efforts to address key issues afflicting the public, including the rising cost of living. It is also designed to help with other problems, such as the national deficit, digitalisation issues for SMEs and businesses, and food safety.

Stamp duty exemption for purchase of first home is not mentioned in the revised Budget 2023, what is stated is stamp duty exemption for transfer of property between family members.
