Lazada has unexpectedly revised its voucher stacking mechanics, where some types of vouchers and rebate codes can no longer be stacked for use in one purchase order. Effective immediately, this means that customers will now need to do some strategising when shopping in order to get best rebates possible.

If you’ve been shopping on Lazada for a while now, you’d know that the e-commerce platform offers several different types of vouchers and rebate codes that can be stacked to give you pretty generous discounts, especially during its monthly double date sale events. In fact, up until recent sale events – such as its 4.4 Jualan Raya Mega Lazada and 5.5 Jualan Kasih Berganda – shoppers were allowed to stack up to seven types of vouchers/rebates in a single order to save on their purchases: Lazada Bonus + Everyday Cashback voucher + platform voucher + bank voucher + store voucher + shipping fee voucher + LazCoins.

As of today, however, Lazada has made some revisions to this, unannounced, and now only certain types of vouchers and rebate codes can be used together in one purchase. Here’s Lazada’s list of vouchers – categorised as either collectible vouchers or code vouchers – and how they can be used going forward:

Not included in this list is the Everyday Cashback voucher, which was introduced earlier this year for shoppers to earn cashback for future purchases via current orders. With the latest update, this particular type of voucher can be stacked with all other vouchers except for platform vouchers.

Understandably, shoppers will likely be most impacted by the inability to stack platform vouchers and code vouchers with various other selected vouchers or rebates. Regular Lazada customers, for instance, had particularly appreciated the ability to stack platform vouchers with Lazada Bonus and Everyday Cashback vouchers during double date sale events as it allowed for considerable savings – here’s a peek at how it works in an actual purchase:

While Lazada did not share its reasons for rolling out this update, it is not the only e-commerce platform to introduce limitations on how users can stack or use their vouchers. Shopee, in fact, had revised its customers ability to stack certain types of vouchers back in mid-2022.
