More Information

What protection will I get from AmGeneral Private Motor Insurance?

If you think third-party-only car insurance is not enough, AmGeneral Private Motor Insurance will do you a lot of good!

This comprehensive motor insurance plan covers you for any injury or death caused to third-party individuals, be it another motorist or pedestrian, including accidental collision and other perils such as fire.

What kind of vehicles can I cover with this motor insurance policy?

There are two types of vehicles you can insure with the AmGeneral Private Motor Insurance, which are Private Cars and Motorcycles.

So, whether you're a road warrior riding your big bike all over town, or just need to send your kids to school every day, you are eligible for this insurance plan.

The only difference will be that you have specialised rates that will be determined by various factors including the make and age of your vehicle, your age, gender, occupation, location and your claims history.

What kind of loss or damage to my vehicle will it cover?

Good question! First and foremost, you can claim for any loss/ damages caused by road accidents and restore your car to tip-top shape by sending it to one of AmGeneral's panel workshops for easy claims.

If you're afraid of your car being stolen or you always find yourself parking at for lack of a better word, dodgy places, you can be protected against any burglary or theft and even accidental fire.

How about the main policy exclusions?

You absolutely cannot claim for any depreciation, wear, rust, or mechanical breakdowns because really, it's probably because you didn't take care of it enough!

Here's an interesting one: you cannot claim your vehicle's tyres UNLESS the vehicle itself has been damaged at the same time!

Are there any add-on benefits for the AmGeneral Private Motor Insurance?

Absolutely! Of course, you'll have to pay a little bit extra! Here's what you can get:

  • Legal Liability to Passengers
  • Windscreen, windows or sunroof damage
  • Strikes, Riot and Civil Commotions (SRCC)
  • Special perils such as floods or landslide
  • Waive of betterment
  • Compensation for assessed repair time (CART)
  • Private hire car (e-hailing)
