This policy provides insurance against liabilities to other parties for injury or death, damage to other parties' property, and accidental or fire damage to your vehicle or theft of your vehicle.

What are some of the key terms and conditions that I should be aware of?

When it comes to buying an insurance policy, withholding information from your insurer will certainly do you no good! So, disclose all material facts about your prized set of wheels e.g. previous accidents, modification to engine. Ensure that your vehicle is insured at an appropriate amount and in a roadworthy condition. 

However, having an auto insurance does not mean you're free from financial responsibilities. An excess amount must be bourne by you i.e. the driver if your vehicle is driven by a person not named in your policy. A compulsory excess of RM400 is charged and any other excess amount applicable.

How do I make a claim?

In the event of a claim, you may notify Overseas Assurance Corporation (M) Bhd by contacting them at their customer service hotline or send them an email. Once your claim notification is received, your insurance agent will advise you on the next course of ation latest by the next working day. Before you meet your insurer, don't forget to prepare the following documents beforehand to facilitate the claim process.

  • Driving license of driver
  • Estimated time for repair (provided by panel workshop)
  • Claim form Identity card of insured and driver Police report (to be made within 24 hours after an accident)

Additional documents may be required depending on the severity and circumstances of the loss or damage.
