Our everyday expenses are increasing year by year and what better way to maximise it than earning cashback for every Ringgit you spend?
A cashback credit card is by far one of the Malaysians' favourites and HSBC intends to step up its game with their brand-new Live+ Credit Card, designed for you to get the most out of your life with every spending you make.
What do I get from the HSBC Live+ Credit Card?
This credit card gives you cashback of up to 8% when you spend on selected categories namely dining (locally/overseas), shopping (locally/overseas, including online), entertainment (including digital subscriptions), as well as other eligible domestic and overseas spending.
Here’s the breakdown of the cashback mechanic:
Monthly Eligible Spend (Per statement month) | Dining | Shopping | Entertainment | Other Domestic Spend (No minimum spend) | Other Overseas Spend (No minimum spend) |
Cashback Type | Bonus Cashback | Bonus Cashback | Bonus Cashback | Base Cashback | Base Cashback |
Minimum Spend RM1,000 | 1% | 1% | 1% | 0.2% | 0.5% |
Minimum Spend RM2,500 | 2% | 2% | 2% | 0.2% | 0.5% |
Minimum Spend RM5,000 and above | 8%* | 8%* | 8%* | 0.2% | 0.5% |
Monthly Capping | RM30 | RM30 | RM30 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Note: The Base Cashback forms part of the Bonus Cashback
Overall, the HSBC Live+ Credit Card adopts a tiered monthly spending structure so essentially—the more you spend, the higher the chance to unlock the 8% cashback tier. Following that, each bonus cashback on each category is capped at RM30 monthly except for the other domestic and overseas spending categories, which are unlimited.
Referencing the T&C, we’d like to highlight that the 8% cashback is a promotional offer. It consists of 5% cashback and an additional 3% cashback on the spending categories (dining, shopping and entertainment), made available until 31 December 2024—this means that the latter additional cashback won’t be available starting 1 January 2025 although it is subject to possible extension set by HSBC.
