Protecting the environment with Maybank myimpact Visa Signature
It’s no easy feat to help protect the environment but every little contribution or initiative you make makes a huge difference for a better future.
Recently launched by Maybank, this sustainable-themed conventional credit card not only rewards you with cashback and TreatsPoints on spending made with selected eco-friendly merchant(s), but you also get a carbon footprint tracker and carbon offset feature — the first-ever credit card in Malaysia to have these!
Generally, how it works is that the carbon footprint tracker will first calculate and estimate your carbon emissions in kilograms based on your spending. Thereafter, you can choose to offset your carbon footprint by making financial contributions to regional reforestation initiatives by selected projects.
Don’t worry! Both of these features — Carbon Footprint Tracker and Carbon Offset — are easily accessible through the Maybank MAE App and Maybank2u website. You’ll even get a certificate for every carbon offset that you make!
Up to 1% cashback and 1x TreatsPoint
As a Maybank myimpact cardholder, you’ll earn 1% cashback on every spending made with selected ESG-friendly (Environment, Social and Governance) merchants such as the following:
- Commuter Rail and Bus Transportation: For example, RapidKL, Easybook, Aeroline, etc.
- Ride-hailing and Car Rental Services: For example, Grab, Socar, etc.
- EV Charging and Solar Energy Services: For example, Verdant Solar, ERS Energy, etc.
- Education: For example, Tenby Schools, Sri KDU, Beaconhouse, etc.
- Sporting Goods/Memberships and Pharmaceutical Items: For example, ClassPass, JD Sports, Celebrity Fitness, etc.
- Used Merchandise Stores and Repair Services: For example, Mister Minit, Cash Converters, etc.
Meanwhile, 0.5% cashback will be credited to your card account for every contactless spending you make, including via Apple Pay or Samsung Pay, capped at RM35 per month. This excludes Petrol, Airlines, Government Bodies/JomPay, E-wallet Reloads, Cash Advances or Utilities.
1x TreatsPoint, on the other hand, will be awarded for every RM1 spent on other types of transactions except spending on Petrol, Airlines, Government Bodies/JomPay, E-wallet Reloads or Cash Advances.
