Maximize Your Everyday Rewards with OCBC 365 MasterCard

The OCBC 365 Mastercard is a practical credit card designed to help Malaysians maximize their daily spending by earning rewards in the form of OCBC$ points. Whether you are dining out, shopping, paying for utilities, or refueling your vehicle, this card ensures that every ringgit spent counts.

With bonus rewards on weekends, a long 5-year validity for earned points, and a first-year annual fee waiver, this card offers great value for those looking to optimize their spending.

Earn More OCBC$ When You Spend on Weekends

The OCBC 365 MasterCard earns OCBC$ points on everyday spending, with higher earning rates on weekends for certain categories. Your points remain valid for five years, giving you plenty of time to accumulate before redeeming them as cashback.

Earning Rates

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday):

  • 10x OCBC$ per RM1 spent on Dining, Groceries, Shopping

Weekdays (Monday to Friday):

  • 5x OCBC$ per RM1 spent on Dining, Groceries, Shopping

Every Day:

  • 1x OCBC$ per RM1 spent on Utilities, Petrol, Insurance premiums

The 20,000 OCBC$ Monthly Cap

You can earn up to 20,000 OCBC$ per statement cycle from the 5x and 10x earning categories. Once you hit this cap, you'll continue earning 1x OCBC$ on all qualifying purchases with no upper limit.

The 1x earning categories (utilities, petrol, insurance) have no cap at all, you'll always earn 1x on these regardless of how much you spend.

How Much You'll Earn: Practical Examples

Weekend grocery shopper:

  • Spend RM400 on groceries every Saturday
  • Earn: RM400 × 10 = 4,000 OCBC$ per week
  • Monthly total: 16,000 OCBC$ (well under the 20,000 cap)

Heavy weekend spender:

  • Saturday: RM300 dining, RM500 shopping
  • Sunday: RM400 groceries, RM300 dining
  • Weekend total: RM1,500 × 10 = 15,000 OCBC$
  • Four weekends: 60,000 OCBC$ earned, but capped at 20,000
  • Additional weekday spending continues earning at 1x after cap

Utilities and petrol (no cap):

  • RM300 monthly electricity bill = 300 OCBC$
  • RM400 monthly petrol = 400 OCBC$
  • These always earn 1x regardless of your other spending

OCBC$ Redemption

Your OCBC$ points are valid for five years from the date you earn them. You can redeem them as cashback directly through the OCBC Mobile Banking App; points are converted and credited back to your credit card account.

The app shows your current OCBC$ balance and lets you choose how much to redeem. Most cardholders save up their points for a few months, then redeem a larger amount to offset their credit card bill or cover a big purchase.

Annual Fee and Charges

  • Principal card: RM100
  • Supplementary card: RM50
  • Service tax: RM25 per card (charged on activation and annually)

Interest rates (tiered structure):

  • 15% p.a. if you've made prompt payments for 12 consecutive months
  • 17% p.a. if you've made prompt payments for 10-11 out of the past 12 months
  • 18% p.a. if you've made fewer than 10 prompt payments in the past 12 months

Cash advance interest: 18% p.a. (charged daily from transaction date)

Minimum monthly payment: Higher of these two:

  1. 5% of new balance (excluding instalment plans) + 100% of all instalment amounts
  2. RM50

Late payment fee: RM10 or 1% of outstanding balance (whichever is higher), capped at RM100

This overseas transaction fee is lower than the standard 1.25% charged on most other OCBC cards, saving you money on foreign currency purchases and overseas travel spending.
