Standard Chartered Visa Platinum Balance Transfer
The Standard Chartered Visa Platinum credit card can also be a useful financial management tool.
It has the Standard Chartered Balance Transfer feature which allows cardholders to consolidate outstanding balances from other credit cards or charge cards into one single credit card.
By transferring outstanding balances from other cards to Standard Chartered Visa Platinum, cardholders can pay off the total amount for up to 36 months at a 5.99% p.a. interest rate.
Such a feature helps cardholders manage their payments easily and creates savings on interest payments.
What happens if I do not make a repayment on time?
There will be a finance charge incurred on the outstanding credit card balance that is overdue. This finance charge, ranging from a minimum of 15% p.a. to a maximum of 18% p.a., is tiered based on the user's repayment behaviour in the last 12 months.
See the table below for reference:
Annual Rates | Conditions |
15% p.a. | Cardmembers who promptly settle their Minimum Monthly Payment due for 12 consecutive months. |
17% p.a. | Cardmembers who promptly settle their Minimum Monthly Payment due for 10/11 months in the last 12 consecutive months. |
18% p.a. | Cardmembers who make 9 months or less prompt payments of their Minimum Monthly Payment in the last 12 consecutive months. |
For example, if within 12 months from the card approval date you have missed 3 credit card repayments consecutively, an 18% p.a. finance charge will be levied on the credit card outstanding balance.
After you have managed to consistently repay your credit card outstanding balance promptly and in full for 12 consecutive months, the finance charge will default to the minimum.
