What is the Mumtaz Current Account-i?

The Mumtaz Current Account-i is an Islamic banking current account where funds deposited are managed and invested into Shariah compliant assets. This account does not issue hadiyyah (profit) to the account holder.

What are some of the services open to Mumtaz Current Account-i holders?

A cheque book is issued free of charge when you open a Mumtaz Current Account-i. Account holders can pay bills and retail purchases with ease with the cheque book. 

In addition, internet banking services are provided for account holders, who can now access their account activity and balance at any time during the day from home or at work. 

As an added convenience, account holders can also conduct various online transactions such as interbank transfers and bill payments.

What do I need to set up a Mumtaz Current Account-i?

Individuals should be aged 18 and above. The account is open to Malaysians, permanent residents and foreigners subject to bank’s discretion. A minimum deposit of at least RM500 is required for Malaysians and permanent residents with the amount being RM1,000 for foreigners. 

Interested parties should bring along a NRIC or passport. In addition, an introducer is required who should be an existing OCBC account holder for at least 1 year in good standing.

Mumtaz Current Account-i holders can benefit from the convenience of OCBC phone banking services. Helpful and friendly customer service representatives are on standby to help account holders with any enquires on their account or services.

Are paper statements provided for current account holders?

Mumtaz Current Account-i holders can benefit from free paper statements on a monthly basis. Statements show a record of all account activity and balance, making it easier for account holders to track their activity.
