What makes UOB Basic Current Account unique?

When you sign up for UOB Basic Current Account, you will get access to UOB banking services and facilities across multitude of channels.

You can perform fund transfer, bill and loan payments and track transactions history via UOB Personal Internet Banking, 24-hour Phone Banking as well as 24-hour e-Banking Centre.

UOB Basic Current Account does not only help you save every penny you worked hard for with peace of mind, but also give you the flexibility to cash it out at your own convenience.

Do I get a cheque book and debit card?

Remember the flexibility we talked about just now? You can request for a cheque book at a small fee to access to your money. Carrying hard cash can be risky in this day and age, therefore, a cheque book can do you a favour when you need to make a big buck payment.

Besides, you will also be issued with a UOB Debit MasterCard, which has better security features compared to cash and cheque, for free.

Do I get an Overdraft Facility?

Overdraft facility is available upon your request to UOB and also at its discretion. Just remember to service your interest charges on time and make a full settlement of your overdraft when it is due.

What are the fees and charges I should know?

These are few but significant fees and charges you should be aware of:

  • Stamp Duty on cheque book (50 leaves): RM7.50
  • Half-yearly Service Charge: RM10, if average balance falls below RM1,000
  • Early Account Closure: RM20, if closed within 3 months of opening
