Who Can Apply For This Debit Card?

The AFFIN BANK Visa Debit Card is issued to account holders of an AFFIN BANK Current or Savings Account (CASA) who meet the following age and account criteria:

  • Individuals: Account holders eighteen (18) years and above are eligible to apply for the Card.
  • Minors: Minors who are twelve (12) years and above are also eligible to apply for the Card.
  • Joint Accounts: Only holders of joint accounts with the instruction of “either-to-sign” can apply for the Card.

What Are the Required Documents to Apply for This Debit Card?

To obtain the debit card, you must first open and hold a valid Current or Savings Account with AFFIN BANK.

  • Your original Identity Card (MyKad) (for Malaysians) or Passport and relevant permit (for Non-Residents).
  • Completed Account Application Form for the linked Savings or Current Account.
  • Minimum initial deposit required for the linked account type.

What Are the Fees That I Need to Pay?

  • Annual Fee:
    • First Year: WAIVED (Free)
    • Subsequent Year: RM12.00 per annum (or RM8.00 if linked to a Basic Savings/Current Account).
  • ATM Withdrawal Fee (AFFIN ATM): Free (at AFFINBANK and AFFIN ISLAMIC ATMs).
  • ATM Withdrawal Fee (Other Banks/MEPS): RM1.00 per withdrawal/transaction at local MEPS member bank ATMs.
  • Overseas Transaction Conversion Fee: When the card is used outside Malaysia, a fee of up to 1% is added to the VISA International exchange rate.
  • Replacement Card Fees:
    • Due to lost/stolen Card, loss of PIN, or Card damaged by Customer: RM12.00
    • Due to faulty Card/recall or fraud: Exempted (Free)

How Can I Manage My AFFIN Bank Visa Debit Card?

Lost, Stolen, or Unauthorized Use

If your card is lost or stolen, you must report it immediately to block the card.

  • Contact Numbers:
    • Monday to Friday (8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.): Call the Contact Centre at 03-5522 3000.
    • After 9:00 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays: Call the Authorisation Centre at 03-2028 6300.
  • Replacement Fee: A replacement card can be issued upon request, and a penalty of RM12 will be charged to your account.

Enhanced Security Features

  • Chip and PIN: The card uses Secure Chip and PIN Technology to protect your account details and money.
  • SMS Alerts: Free SMS alerts are sent to your registered mobile number for specific purchase amounts.
  • 3D Secure Online Purchases: To protect against fraud, you will receive an Authentication Code via SMS to verify your online purchases.
