What is the HSBC Advance Debit Card?

It's a card that offers a secure and convenient way to make payments using funds from your linked HSBC Advance account.

It supports both the MyDebit network for transactions within Malaysia and Singapore and the Visa network for international use.

The card also features an embedded chip and offers SMS transaction alerts for added security.

How do I get transaction alerts?

By default, you will receive SMS alerts for your first-time cash withdrawal at an HSBC ATM and for all purchases.

You can also customise your alert settings or opt for email alerts by contacting the bank.

What should I do if a transaction is not mine?

Immediately call the 24-hour HSBC Call Centre. It's important to report any unauthorised activity within 60 days of the statement date.

Am I eligible to apply?

You are eligible to apply for this debit card when you open an HSBC Advance account.

Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above can open a sole account online by completing an application form and verifying their identity with their MyKad at a Self-Service Machine or a branch.

Alternatively, you can always visit any HSBC branch to make an application.

Ready to Use Your Card?

The card is issued inactive for security. To activate it and create your PIN, call the 24-hour Card Activation Hotline at +603 8321 8999 from your registered mobile number.

Follow the automated instructions to enter your 16-digit card number and a one-time security code to create your 6-digit PIN.

For overseas transactions and certain online (Card-Not-Present) purchases, the features are disabled by default. You can enable them by visiting any HSBC branch or contacting the HSBC Call Centre.
