The RHB Multi Currency Visa Debit Card is an innovative payment instrument that links directly to your RHB Multi Currency Account. It functions as both a worldwide ATM card and a payment card, allowing you to manage and transact in Ringgit Malaysia and up to 33 foreign currencies instantly. Its key benefit is helping you save money while spending overseas by mitigating currency conversion costs.
What Are the Benefits?
- Zero Conversion Fees: If you have sufficient balance in the foreign currency you are spending (e.g., SGD for a Singapore purchase), there is no conversion fee charged.
- Exchange Rate Protection: Exchange rates are locked in when you convert and hold foreign currency, protecting you from rate fluctuations when you later spend.
- Earn Passive Income: You can earn attractive interest rates on the account balance of selected foreign currencies you hold.
- Secure Deposit: Your deposit is protected by PIDM up to RM250,000 for each depositor.
Who Can Apply For This Debit Card?
- Individuals aged 18 years and above.
- Required to open an RHB Multi Currency Account (which mandates holding a Ringgit Current or Savings Account).
- Joint accounts are allowed up to 2 joint accountholders, provided the signing condition is "either or" to sign.
What Are the Required Documents to Apply for This Debit Card?
- Completed application and declaration form.
- Copy of your Identity Card and/or Passport.
- For educational purposes, provide the relevant enrollment letter from an educational institution.
- For employment, provide a working visa.
What Are the Fees That I Need To Pay?
- Annual Fee: RM20.
- Card Replacement Fee: RM15.
- Overseas Transaction Conversion Fee:
- Waived if the transaction currency is matched and sufficient in the Multi Currency Account.
- 1% of the converted amount if the transaction is debited from the Ringgit Account.
- ATM Withdrawal Fee (RHB ATM): Free.
- ATM Withdrawal Fee (Local Bank MEPS): RM1.00 per withdrawal.
- ATM Withdrawal Fee (Overseas via Visa Network): RM12.00 per withdrawal.
