More Information

How does ShopeePay work?

ShopeePay works as a standard e-wallet. You can top up your balance, then scan to pay at Shopee checkout or at any offline merchant that accepts ShopeePay or DuitNow QR.

You can also send money to other ShopeePay users, transfer to any Malaysian bank account via DuitNow, and pay bills without leaving the app.

Is there any wallet limit for everyday payments?

The wallet limit depends on your verification status. Unverified accounts are capped at RM2,999, while accounts that complete e-KYC verification can hold up to RM30,000.

However, the transaction limit is capped at RM9,999 per transaction, even for verified users, so larger payments must be split.

Can I access SPayLater through ShopeePay?

Yes, SPayLater is within the same app. With this feature, you can split eligible Shopee purchases into 0% instalments for up to 12 months.

However, SPayLater is a separate credit product from Monee Capital Malaysia, and buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) products are not regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia.

How can I top up my ShopeePay wallet?

You can top up using a credit or debit card, online banking, a linked Maybank2u account, or cash at participating convenience stores.

There's currently no fee for topping up via online banking or for withdrawing via DuitNow Transfer, though ShopeePay reserves the right to charge fees for its e-money services in the future.

Can foreigners use ShopeePay in Malaysia?

Yes. Foreigners residing in Malaysia can register and verify their account using a MyPR card, passport, or UNHCR document.

Does ShopeePay come with a physical card?

No. ShopeePay is an app-based e-wallet with no card of its own. You can link an existing credit or debit card for top-ups, but there's no separate ShopeePay card to carry.

Can I use ShopeePay when I travel overseas?

Not yet for Malaysian accounts. ShopeePay's cross-border QR payment feature is currently only available to users registered in Singapore and Thailand.
