More Information

What Is A TNG Digital Business Account?

TNG Digital Business Account is a business eWallet account for TNG eWallet merchants that lets you receive payments, manage business funds, and make transfers through the TNG eWallet app.

The account is issued by TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, an approved e-money issuer regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia. It is available to Individual Traders and Registered Merchants who meet TNG Digital's registration and verification requirements.

The Business Account provides features such as real-time settlement, DuitNow transfers, transaction tracking, and higher wallet limits. It is designed for business use rather than as a replacement for a conventional business bank account.

Account Limits And Fees

Your Business Account limit depends on whether you are an Individual Trader or a Registered Merchant.

Business Type Wallet Size Monthly Transaction Limit Annual Transaction Limit
Individual Trader Up to RM60,000 Up to RM75,000 Up to RM720,000
SSM-Registered Business Up to RM500,000 Up to RM625,000 Up to RM6,000,000

The wallet size is the maximum balance you can hold, while the monthly and annual figures are transaction limits. Each payment or transfer is also capped at RM9,999.99 per transaction, regardless of your overall wallet limit. This single-transaction limit cannot be adjusted.

The Business Account has no registration, monthly, or annual fees, and no minimum balance requirement. DuitNow transfers and real-time settlement are also available without fees under the Business Account.

If you reach your monthly or annual transaction limit, eligible new settlements are automatically transferred to your registered bank account on a T+1 basis. Business Account settlement resumes when the new month or year begins.

Who Can Apply

The Business Account is available to Individual Traders and Registered Merchants that are registered on TNG eWallet.

An Individual Trader is a person operating a business without an SSM-registered business entity. A Registered Merchant refers to an SSM-registered business that meets TNG Digital's requirements.

You need an existing TNG eWallet account and must complete the required verification and merchant registration process before using the Business Account.

How To Activate Your Business Account

Existing TNG eWallet merchants can activate the Business Account directly through the app.

Go to My Business → Dashboard → Set up for FREE and follow the activation instructions. You will need to agree to the Business Account Terms and Conditions, complete or confirm your business details, and set a separate six-digit PIN.

New TNG eWallet merchants who joined on or after 18 June 2025 have their Business Account automatically activated.

Requirements For Different Business Types

The information required depends on how your business is registered.

You generally need:

  • A TNG eWallet account
  • A completed TNG eWallet verification process
  • TNG eWallet merchant registration
  • Your relevant business details
  • SSM registration details if you are a Registered Merchant

Businesses with multiple owners may also need to complete an electronic Letter of Authorisation.

For owners holding 25% or more, each applicable owner must sign the eLOA. If every owner holds less than 25%, all owners must sign it. The eLOA is valid for seven days or 168 hours after it is issued.

How To Use The Business Account

The Business Account lets you receive merchant payments, manage business funds, and transfer money through DuitNow.

When the Business Account is set as the primary settlement account, eligible sales proceeds can be settled into it in real time. This allows businesses to access eligible proceeds without waiting for the usual settlement cycle.

You can also transfer funds to Malaysian bank accounts and other eligible DuitNow participants, subject to the applicable transaction limits.

The Merchant Dashboard lets you monitor sales transactions and income. You can also download statements covering up to 90 days.

The Business Account operates in RM and does not provide foreign-currency exchange or conversion.

Adding Money To The Business Account

You cannot add money to the Business Account using a credit card, debit card, or TNG eWallet reload PIN.

DuitNow Transfer can be used to add funds to the Business Account instead.

This is separate from receiving merchant sales proceeds, which can be settled into the Business Account when it is set as the primary settlement account.

TNG Business Account Is Not A Business Bank Account

The TNG Digital Business Account is a business eWallet account, not a conventional business bank account.

It is designed around merchant payments, business fund management, and transfers through TNG eWallet. Businesses that need broader banking services may therefore still need a separate business bank account.

The RM500,000 wallet limit for a Registered Merchant also does not mean you can transfer RM500,000 in one transaction. Each payment or transfer is capped at RM9,999.99.

For example, if your business has RM500,000 in its Business Account, you cannot transfer the full amount to a bank account in one transaction. A transfer would have to comply with the RM9,999.99 single-transaction limit as well as the applicable daily, monthly, and annual limits.

Business Account Security

The Business Account includes several security features to protect account access and business funds.

These include a separate six-digit PIN, TapSecure, Face Verification, and a Kill Switch that can be used if you suspect suspicious activity. The account also has fraud protection measures.

Businesses should keep their login credentials and PIN confidential and monitor transactions regularly. If a device is lost or stolen or you suspect unauthorised access, use the available security controls promptly.

Managing Access For Your Team

Business owners can give employees or other team members different levels of access depending on the business's requirements.

Available roles include Viewer, Maker, Checker and Maker & Checker. TNG also supports different transaction approval arrangements, including Single Control and Dual Control.

For businesses that only need employees to view information, up to20 team members can be given view-only access.

This allows business owners to separate transaction-making and approval responsibilities instead of giving every team member full access.

Frequently Asked Questions
