What is Prime Care?
Prime Care is a critical illness insurance plan offered by Allianz to anyone who wants to ensure that they are covered from all angles. The great thing about this plan is that you can purchase this coverage by itself or attach it to Allianz PowerLink and build yourself a hybrid insurance policy with more comprehensive coverage at only one premium.
What are some of the benefits?
With Prime Care you will have coverage for Critical Illnesses from the early stage up to the advanced stages. The plan will allow you to seek early treatment with up to 50% early payout of the insured amount. It also offers you the benefit of making multiple claims with no waiting period in between. This will allow you to focus all your energy on recovery, so as not to compromise your health.
Aside from this Prime Care comes with a Diabetes Recovery Benefit that covers amputation, kidney failure, or retinopathy caused by diabetes. In addition to that, you will also have a Cancer Recovery Benefit to help you recuperate and regain your ability to move on with your life however it may turn out.
The list of benefits displayed is non-exhaustive, so remember to check the actual policy contract or consult with your agent on a fully comprehensive list of illnesses covered by this policy.
How does the coverage work?
The plan covers over 100 Critical Illnesses from the Early to Advanced Stages and upon diagnosis of any of the covered Critical Illnesses, you will be given lump sum pay-outs based on the stage of the Critical Illness diagnosed and there will be no waiting periods between claims.
However, when you sign up for Prime Care with Allianz PowerLink you get to enhance your coverage by attaching various optional riders for extra coverage, such as personal accident rider and medical rider in your Allianz PowerLink policy.
Are there any exclusions?
Of course, there are a few exclusions that come with this otherwise comprehensive plan, one of them being that you are not able to make any claims regarding a Critical Illness before the policy is issued or within the first 30 or 60 days of having the policy. Depending on the type of Critical Illness diagnosed, it is only after that waiting period that you can start using the policy to its fullest potential.
Other exclusions include, Critical Illness that stems or is a result of a pre-existing condition that you might have, any Critical Illness diagnosed to be due directly or indirectly to a congenital defect or disease manifested before the insured (i.e. yourself) turned 17. Any Critical Illness caused or is due to self-inflicted injury, Critical Illness resulting from drug or alcohol abuse, if life assured did not survive at least 7 days after diagnosis of an Early Stage Critical Illness, and if any life assured that does not survive at least 30 days after diagnosis of any other stages of the critical illness.
The exclusions are non-exhaustive and for further details refer to the Allianz Prime Care policy contract.
