What About The Benefits?
You may think that premiums for a critical illness insurance policy would be expensive but PRUcancer X provide premiums that are affordable.
The enrolment process is also easy and focuses only on cancer risks only. There are no complicated and lengthy underwriting questions.
Unlike many other insurance policies, this one allows for lump sum cash payouts when you are indeed diagnosed with cancer (except for Thyroid Cancer) within Year 2 of the policy. Prudential will then allow you to withdraw 100% of your sum assured or the Total Premiums that you have paid to date, whichever is higher.
If you are in the early stages of cancer (includes Carcinoma-In-Situ & Thyroid Cancer), 5% (within Year 1 of policy) and 10% (Year 2 of policy) of the sum assured can be withdrawn. Do note that the sum withdrawn for early stages of cancer reduces cancer benefits payouts.
Other benefits include a compassionate benefit upon death of RM10,000 to help your family with funeral expenses.
Lastly, this also a maturity benefit product, where as soon as your policy has reached it maturity you will be able to withdraw your sum assured as well.
How do the premiums work?
The premiums for this policy will be charged on a monthly basis, which means you will have to regularly make payments for your policy to function. Prudential of course will inform you of any change in premium should it happen. Changes aside, there are a total of 4 different plans within the policy for you to choose from, and each plan will come with its own set of premiums.
Therefore, you will need to remember that your monthly premium will take into account, your age, financial standpoint, health, lifestyle and the coverage you want. You will have several methods in which to make your payments, including credit transfers, deposits and the auto debit feature.

That being said, there is a cooling period of 15 days after you have signed up or renewed the policy in which you can choose to cancel it. it is only within this cooling period that you will get a refund of your premiums paid.
