What is Allianz Diabetic Essential Medical Card?
Having diabetes should not be a deal-breaker when it comes to full medical coverage, everyone should have the right to comprehensive and affordable medical insurance.
Allianz Diabetic Essential is a comprehensive medical insurance plan that offers you medical care, for Type 2 Diabetes.
What am I covered against?
Similar to other medical insurance plans, the Allianz insurance offers you coverage for hospitalisation and surgical care, along with other medical charges.
You will also have coverage for pre-hospitalisation, in terms of consultations and diagnostic tests, as well as post-hospitalisation, should you need any after care.
The medical card policy also covers out-patient care for cancer, kidney dialysis and dengue or enteric fever.
Since this is also a diabetes-specific insurance plan, the plan also provides diabetes management benefits.
Once a year, you will have access to a health screening benefit, claimable up to RM250, for the following tests;
- Medical examination by a Doctor
- Glycated Haemoglobin (HbA1c)
- Urine FEME

Allianz Diabetic Essential Medical Card comes with a premium discount benefit that is applicable subject to the results of your Health Screening Benefit tests.
For example, when you first sign up for the plan and have a good medical report, then Allianz may offer you a 20% discount on your premium.
By submitting your medical reports annually, you will receive a 10% discount even if your medical report results aren’t very good.
Depending on your report, you may receive a discount of up to 40% off on your Allianz insurance premiums.
The premium discount rates are not guaranteed and the rate given may vary from policy year to policy year.
