What is FWD Insurance i-Med?
FWD Insurance i-Med is a non-participating, yearly renewable medical plan that offers you coverage for hospitalisation room and board, incentive care unit (ICU), surgical benefits, outpatient benefits, and non-surgical medical benefits, including outpatient kidney dialysis treatment and outpatient cancer treatment.
There are two (2) types of medical plans being offered namely Plan 1 and Plan 2 and each comes with different annual limits. Depending on your lifestyle, financial commitments and protection needs, you can opt for either an annual limit of RM60,000 for Plan 1 or RM90,000 for Plan 2.
Despite the amount gap, it is worth highlighting that both plans offered no lifetime limit—which means there will be no reduction in your coverage up to age 70.

Please note that the said benefit for each plan has a maximum hospital stay of 200 days per disability.

As you can see, the older you get, the higher the premium payable will be. Hence, it is always advisable to get covered with a medical plan the soon as you can. Staying healthy is a luxury and while we try our best to keep our health in check, we can never predict what’s going to happen in the near future. And it goes without saying—better to be safe than sorry!
Additionally, please note that the premium payable stated above is not guaranteed and will increase according to your age at renewal. FWD Insurance has the right to revise the premium by giving you a thirty (30) days advance notice.
Am I eligible to apply for FWD Insurance i-Med?
You are eligible to apply if you are aged between 18 years to 45 years old, while the renewal of this policy is open up to the age of 69 as the coverage expires at 70 years old. After that age, this policy will cease and will no longer work.
Apart from that, we also would like to highlight that students, housewives, retirees or unemployed individuals are eligible to sign up for Plan 1 only.
Additionally, individuals with pre-existing conditions or illnesses are not eligible to apply for FWD Insurance i-Med. Other major exclusions can be found in the Product Disclosure Sheet.
Can I cancel my policy?
Yes, you are allowed to cancel your policy and here’s how it works.
Upon receiving the policy contract, you are given a free-look period of 15 days to match them with your needs, budget or preference. And if you return the policy contract back to FWD Insurance within the said period, a percentage of the premiums that you have paid will be refunded to you, without any interest. Thereafter, the policy will be nulled from commencing.
Regardless, you still need to give advance notice to FWD Insurance should you want to cancel your policy. The refund is also subject to you not making any claim on the policy during the current policy year. To find more details on the amount of the premium refund, simply go through the PDS or Policy Wording/Policy Contract shown below.
