What is Generali Medic 101?
Generali Medic 101 is a medical insurance policy that caters not only to the young-ins of the world but its ageing members as well.
As such, the policy can be extended to as far as 101 years old, without there being a compromise to a person’s coverage.
While it can be a stand-alone plan, this policy also works great with other Generali medical insurance plans if you have them.
What does this medical card cover?
A great many things are what it covers.
Some of the major benefits, of course, include medical and hospital expenses, like room and board, ICU facilities, surgical needs and use of hospital supplies and equipment.
It also covers certain per-hospitalization benefits like diagnosis tests and consultation fees if you need a check-up or just a bit of reassurance.
Following that, the Generali insurance coverage extends over some outpatient care perks, such as physiotherapy, cancer treatment, and kidney dialysis.
You will also have access to home nursing care should you need it, especially for the aftercare of an organ transplant.
Who can apply for this medical insurance?
One of the best things about this medical insurance is that it is available to everyone. Individuals who want to apply for this plan need only be 18 years old to be eligible.
Parents can pick this policy up for their kids after they turn 30 days old, and can be extended to the age of 23 years should they still be studying.
As an individual, if you have signed up for this Generali medical insurance before your 65th birthday, then you may continue to extend it till you turn 101 years old.
How do the premiums work?
Well, there are a total of 5 plans that come within the policy, each ranging differently in terms of premiums and annual limits.
However, this also means that you get to pick the plan that presents the most affordable premium to you.
The medical card premiums for this policy are calculated on an annual basis, so that means you only have to make the payment once a year.
On the same note, to make the premiums cost less there is an RM10,000 deductible amount imposed on every policy year.
So, keep that in mind when you go to make a claim or register at the hospital.
Can I cancel my Generali Medic 101 Medical Card?
Any cancellation of your Generali Medic 101 is entirely your choice, so the short answer is, yes.
On that note, do keep in mind that there is a cooling period of 15 days, from the date you get your medical insurance for you to test the waters so to speak.
It is during this time that you can cancel your policy and receive a refund on your premiums paid.
Therefore, if you decide to cancel your medical card midway, you will not receive a full refund of your premiums.
To make a cancellation you will need to notify Generali in advance.
The benefit(s) payable under eligible product is protected by PIDM up to limits. Please refer to PIDM's TIPS Brochure or contact Generali Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad or PIDM (visit www.pidm.gov.my).
