What is Kurnia MediGUARD Family Medical Card about?
Kurnia MediGUARD Family is a series of medical insurance plans offered by Kurnia Insurance Berhad.
The medical card scheme is made to encompass your whole family, with better coverage and more affordable premiums.
This Kurnia insurance comes with 6 plans to choose from, therefore you will be able to pick protection that both works for you and your family as well as adhere to your financial situation or budget.
How much does the medical insurance cost?
Well, that is a matter entirely up to you.
This particular policy comes with 6 different medical insurance plans to choose from so there is a wide medical insurance premium selection. However, it also comes with a couple of other external options.
You can choose to get a plan with or without a medical card, this will raise the premiums slightly as it affects how fast you get admitted at a Liberty General Panel Hospital.
There is also the option of taking up a policy that comes with both a medical card for easy admission, as well as outpatient clinical benefits.
This is optional as well, but then again you might need to have outpatient care such as cancer treatment, and kidney dialysis.
Most of the Kurnia insurance premium rates are not guaranteed and also change based on your age, therefore it is best for you to discuss this with the insurance agent that will adjust the plan to meet your needs.
On that note, since this is a family-centered plan, if you have 2 or more family members subscribed to it, then you will get a 10% discount on your premiums.
Who can apply for this Kurnia insurance?
Anyone over the legal age, and has the financial backing to purchase this Kurnia insurance can pick it up at any time.
The enrollment age for children you would like to include in this family insurance plan must be over 30 days old, and they can be covered up to the age of 19 years old.
However, if your child is still a full-time student, the age band will be extended to 23 for coverage.
On the other hand, the maximum entry age for this plan is 65 years old, but if you have already purchased the medical card before you turned 61 then you can continue to renew it till your 85th birthday.
Kurnia MediGUARD Family Medical Card cancellation
There are many reasons for you not to cancel your Kurnia insurance, especially when you will get a tax relief of up to RM3,000 when you have this plan, but alas the decision is yours to make.
There is a 15-day cooling period from the time you receive the Kurnia MediGUARD Family Medical Card policy which you can decide to cancel or keep the policy.
If you so decide to cancel the medical card, you will be refunded for any premiums paid at that point.
