Frequently Asked Questions about Kurnia MediGUARD Lady Medical Card

Things you might want to know

The expectation and pressure on women especially in developing countries are enormous. Representing almost half of Malaysia’s participating workforce and taxpayers, women are an economic force to be reckoned with. Yet, the majority of women also cannot escape certain gender roles which only women can perform, such as childbearing, home management and as educators of their children at home. Besides, due to the highly demanding and stressful lifestyles, women are also at risk of developing female-related cancers

What is this policy all about?

Kurnia MediGUARD Lady is a medical insurance with benefits targeted specifically for women. With this policy, you have the flexibility to choose the ideal medical plan that best suits your needs as a woman.

What are the benefits of this medical insurance?

You have a choice of plans with a medical card or without a medical card. If you opt for the plans with medical cards, hospital admission and discharge will be hassle free, and you will only need to settle any non-payable charges, if there is any.

However, bear in mind that this is only applicable for Kurnia Insurans’ panel hospitals. If you have a preferred hospital which is not in the list of Kurnia’s panel hospitals, you could opt for a plan without a medical card, which gives you the freedom to choose any hospital you want.

All you need to do is to settle your medical bills in full upon discharge and submit it to Kurnia Insurans to claim for reimbursement for your covered condition.

How is this policy suitable for women?

MediGUARD Lady offers protection against female illnesses, including almost all types of female cancers, facial or dental reconstructive surgeries for injuries sustained in accidents, pregnancy complications, and maternity death.

Are there other benefits for this insurance policy?

The policy also covers Second Surgical Opinions, meaning you could get a second opinion from another doctor at another hospital regarding your condition, empowering you to make a more informed decision on whether a surgery is required or not.

Death or permanent total disablement due to accidents are also covered in the policy.

Who is eligible to purchase this insurance policy?

All women aged between 19 and 65 years old are eligible for this policy. Although you have the option to renew up to the age of 65, Kurnia Insurans reserves the discretion to renew your policy up to age 70 if you enrolled before age 61.

What are the other benefits of this policy?

The extended benefits of this policy include organ transplants, which Kurnia would provide the full reimbursement up to the lifetime limit of your plan. You’ll also get daily cash allowance if you choose to be admitted at a government hospital, and you’ll get an RM50 reimbursement when you do a medical report.

Do I get any coverage when travelling overseas?

With this policy, you’ll get 24 hours worldwide coverage.
