What's great about the MAA Takaful MEDICA2015?
This is a standalone medical insurance plan with no lifetime limit and no co-Takaful requirement - that means you won't have to pay a single sen when presenting your MAA Takaful medical card at panel hospitals within Malaysia. You will get a daily allowance for every day you spend in the hospital, maximum of up to 200 days a year.
Not only that, in the event of your untimely death, your funeral expenses will be covered for up to RM5,000. You can also take advantage of money saving no-claim bonuses on premium payments if you stay healthy and fit within a year - you know the saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!".
Can you tell me more about the no-claim discount?
This medical plan rewards you with a 20% no-claim bonus on the following year's premium amount, provided you stay healthy and do not make any claim in the current year. You'll continue to receive the discount as long as no claim is made.
For example, Mr. Tan is a policyholder for the MAA Takaful MEDICA2015 Plan 250 with an annual premium of RM924. He did not make a claim for the whole of 2014, so his premium for 2015 will be RM747.40 after deducting Managed Care Organization (MCO) and Emergency Assistance Programme (EAP) fees of RM40 and the 20% discount he's entitled to.
So, how are my insurance premiums calculated?
Your premium is based on your age, gender, and the plan that you choose. As this is a takaful medical plan, your premiums will consist of the following fees:
- Wakalah fee at 25% of the premiums for commission and other expenses.
- RM40 for both MCO and EAP fees.
- Tabarru amount which is the donation for mutual aid and assistance in line with the Takaful concept.
Who is eligible to subscribe to this insurance plan?
MAA Takaful MEDICA2015 covers those as young as 30 days old to 65 years old. If you would like to continue to be financially protected for medical treatment during your golden years, you can choose to renew the plan up to age of 79.
When will my MAA Takaful MEDICA2015 protection expire?
