Your coverage will start the day your proposal form and premium payments are accepted by Tokio Marine.

However, you will need to wait at least 30 days waiting period for sickness and illness claims.

How to make a claim to Tokio Marine?

  • Notify Tokio Marine and provide details such as your policy number, name, hospital name, date or admission or incident, and diagnosis no later than 30 days after the event
  • Seek medical attention as soon as possible from a registered healthcare provider
  • A police report is necessary if you were involved in a vehicle accident of fatal accidents

Am I covered outside of Malaysia?

It depends on your medical condition. You will be covered for emergencies and non-chronic illnesses outside of Malaysia for up to 90 days only starting from the very first day of your trip.

I need medical attention at home, can a qualified nurse come over during the day?

Of course. The good news is, you will be reimbursed for the professional services given by the qualified and licensed nurse.

Depending on your medical condition and treatment, you can be insured for home nursing care for up to 60 days.

What are my deductible and co-insurance options?

This is the amount you need to pay before Medic Plus starts paying for your hospitalisation fees.

This medical plan offers a deductible amount of RM10,000 or only RM5,000 at government hospitals.

If you go under the knife at a government hospital and the resulting bill is RM7,000, your insurance company will only pay RM2,000 - but the good thing is that you will pay a lower premium amount!
