Why does the download speed differ from the upload speed?
Based on the FAQs provided by TM Unifi:
- Most TM Unifi customers’ activities on the internet require higher download speed mostly used for video streaming, social networking, downloading materials, etc.
- Unifi claims that the upload speed in this plan is sufficient to provide a good internet experience to all customers. Based on the usage statistics from Unifi’s existing customers, 90% of total users only used less than 5 Mbps upload speed. However, there are other Unifi Home plans you can check out if you require a higher upload speed.

The WiFi 6 Combo Box is a device consisting of a Universal Optical Network Unit (UONU) and Residential Gateway (RG) that essentially supports a fast WiFi connection with a wide range of coverage—ideal for busy household environments with multiple devices connected to the internet.
Tell me about the fees of this plan.
Yes, there are a few fees. For online applications, an advance payment of RM100 (for Malaysian) and RM500 (for non-Malaysian) will be imposed on you and collected within 10 days from the date of the broadband installation. This payment will be credited to your Unifi account and deducted from the bill amount.
Additionally, there is also the Unifi installation charge of RM200. However, this is currently waived for the first 50 meters of standard installation only. Extra charges will apply if your home requires non-standard installation or additional cabling.
Furthermore, should you decide to terminate your Unifi Home plan earlier than the agreed contract period, you will be charged an early termination penalty fee i.e. the full subscription amount of the remaining contract period, plus any outstanding fees.
What is the requirement to apply for Unifi Home 2 Gbps?
Malaysians aged 18 years and above can apply for the Unifi Home 2 Gbps plan.
