How much can I save with this Celcom smartphone plan?
Buying your Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 smartphone straight from the store can cost you more than RM650 – that’s before you’ve got the protective tampered glass, a phone cover and other add ons that you want. Depending on which plan you choose, you can get your Redmi Note 2 for RM488 with Celcom FIRST Blue or as low as RM288 with Celcom FIRST Gold.
Will I get rebates on my upfront fees?
To sign up for this special discounted plan you’ll need to pay the device fee and upfront payment when you register, including GST charges. Celcom FIRST Gold comes with a RM300 upfront payment fee; it’s RM100 for the Celcom FIRST Blue plan.
Your upfront fees will be rebated back to you via your monthly bills for the first ten months of your contract. So if you’ve signed up for Celcom FIRST Blue, you’ll get 10 x RM10.60 (RM10 + RM0.60 GST); that’s the full RM106 that you paid upon signing up, back to your own pocket.
How does the two year contract work?
This smartphone plan comes with a two year contract, so you can’t cancel your Celcom plan before this period is over without incurring early termination charges between RM500 or RM1000. You’re also required to make all monthly payments in that period.
Can I carry forward any talk time, SMS or data?
Your Celcom FIRST plan comes with a fix amount of talk and SMS each month. If there’s any of these quotas remaining at month’s end, none of it will be carried over into the next cycle. If you exceed your talk time or SMS, you’ll be charged the per usage rates on your Celcom FIRST plan.
For your internet data however, you can carry forward a maximum of 2GB of data into the next month.
What happens if I utilise all my monthly data?
Celom FIRST Blue comes with 4GB of data (monthly quota + free weekend data) while Celcom FIRST Gold is packed up with 10GB of data. In case you finish using up your data on downloads and streaming, be warned that your internet speeds will be throttled. No extra charges when this happens, unless you decide to get a data top up online via your Celcom account.
Can I choose the colour of my Xiaomi Redmi 2?
The only Redmi 2 colours that are currently available in Malaysia are the white and dark grey models. The colour that you choose will be subject to availability in Celcom’s stock.
