Why do I need a personal accident insurance?

What benefits do I get from MSIG Overseas Student Insurance?
MSIG Overseas Student Insurance will compensate you and/or your family members in lump sum payment if you are permanently disabled or perished due to accident, occurred anywhere in the world.
In addition, MSIG will also arrange and pay for expenses incurred under emergency medical evacuation up to RM500,000, as well as any prepaid tuition fees due to unavoidable trip cancellation prior to departure up to RM20,000.
This is a cash-before-cover policy, meaning a full premium must be paid before the policy can become effective.

Are there optional covers I can add on?
There are 5 optional enhanced covers you can choose from, namely Personal Liability, Baggage and Personal Effect, Medical Expenses for Injury, Study Interruption and Temporary Accommodation.
Can the insurance policy be terminated?
The cover will terminate on several conditions below:
- When the insured returns his/her home country permanently;
- On graduation/completion of final exams up to 3 months;
- Ceases to be a full-time student;
- Upon expiry of the policy.
What are the procedures to cancel my policy?
MSIG requires a written notice from you before you can make any cancellation. You will get a refund of premium, which is based on pro-rata basis and depending on how long the cover has been in force.
In the event you have made claims within the coverage period, MSIG also has the right to retain 100% of the annual premium.
