What is Agrobank AgroTani-i about?

Agrobank AgroTani-i is a Shariah-compliant savings account that is open to Malaysians, permanent residents and foreigners aged 18 years and above.

You can open an account either individually, jointly, or for a society, association/ club which should be conducted by at least 2 individual customers aged 18 years and above.

To open an AgroTani-i account, you will need the following minimum initial deposit:

  • Individual account: RM20 minimum
  • Joint account: RM100 minimum
  • Non-individual account: RM100 minimum

The minimum account balance, on the other hand, will be a minimum of RM10 at any time.

What are the benefits I can get from the Agrobank AgroTani-i savings account? 

First of all, you have the security of saving your money in one place, where you can also earn profits the more you save. 

You will be issued an Agro VISA Debit-i card, for you to withdraw cash or pay for purchases. At the end of every month, you will be issued with a statement for you to check your transactions. 

In addition to that, you have access to AGRONet, an internet banking service where you can check your account balance, perform interbank transfers and pay your bills all from the comfort of home!

Is it safe to put my money in this savings account?

Putting your money away in a bank is relatively safer than hiding it in your house. Also, you will earn profits on your savings. 

However, Agrobank is not a member of PIDM as it is a development financial institution that is meant to develop and promote key sectors of the economy.
