Why should I open Bank Muamalat ONEReach Savings Account?
ONEReach Savings Account is an Islamic savings account whereby Bank Muamalat invests your deposit to gain a profit then share the profits with you, but at their discretion of course.
Effective May 2017, this Islamic savings account follows the Qardh principle, i.e. repayment with guarantee contract. Because of this arrangement, this savings account is no longer serves as a safekeeping account.
The cherry on top of ONEReach Savings Account is that you will receive a 1-year free Takaful Personal Accident and Khairat (Funeral expenses) when you deposit RM5,000 and above upon account opening.
What are the main features of this savings account?
To put it simply, Bank Muamalat agrees to share the profits earned with you at an undisclosed ratio. The higher the balance amount in your account, the higher the profit you could potentially reap.
Don't be afraid to save more money into ONEReach Savings Account as it is protected under PIDM for up to RM250,000. You will have the convenience of transfer money from your account via online banking channels, ATMs and debit card.
For ATM cash withdrawal, you get to take out money up to 5 times per month for free.
Am I eligible to open the Bank Muamalat ONEReach Savings Account?
Both Malaysians and permanent residents aged 12 years and above are eligible to open this account with an initial deposit of RM100.
What are the fees and charges?
The debit card issuance fee and annual fee is RM12. In the event that you want to make a card replacement, the bank will charge you RM12 too.
The passbook replacement is only RM20 per replacement, with a service charge of RM5. If you want to close the account within the first 3-months of opening, you will be charged RM10.
Bank Muamalat also charges GST of 6% where applicable.
