What is the CIMB Senior Savers Account all about?

Like it's namesake - it is made for seniors, pesioners, and retirees wishing to invest their hard earned money or their golden years. All you need as a minimum initial deposit of RM250 for a statement savings account or RM500 for a passbook savings account. 

You will be earning interest on your full account balance, which is calculated daily. Also, you will be provided with a passbook, regardless whether you have applied for an ATM card or not.

How much interest can I earn from this savings account?

As mentioned above - You can earn your daily interest on your account’s full balance, with an interest from 0.10% to 1.50% p.a. for balances of above RM100,000. There is no minimum balance that you will need to maintain per month in order to fully enjoy the CIMB Senior Savers Account.

Who can apply to this savings account?

Individuals aged 50 years and above who are either residents or non-residents. Joint account is allowed provided one of the individuals is aged 50 years and above. Below is the full list of things that you will need:

  • NRIC or passport
  • Copy of utility bill for address confirmation
  • Initial deposit of RM250 (statement) or RM500 (passbook)
