How does Citibank’s Balance Transfer Plan work?

Citibank Balance Transfer Plan allows you to transfer all or part of your outstanding balance from other credit cards to your Citibank credit card at an effective interest rate of up to 8.99% p.a. for 12 months.

The minimum transfer amount is RM1,000, while the maximum amount will be subject to your available credit limit and Citibank's discretion.

Do I get any benefits from this balance transfer. Any cash back or reward points?

Unfortunately, you won’t be eligible for benefits like cashback or rewards points for your balance transfer with Citibank.

Am I given the option of paying a minimum monthly payment?

There's a minimum monthly payment option of 5% of the outstanding balance you will be required to pay.

How much do I save?

Compared to a normal financing charge of 18% p.a. for 12 months, you can save a significant amount in Interest charges!

What happens if I fail to make repayment before the monthly due date?

In this case, your credit card will be charged daily interest of 18% p.a. (or 1.5% per month) on the unpaid minimum monthly amount due. 

On the other hand, if you fail to settle your outstanding balance in full before the end of the repayment period, 18% p.a. interest will be imposed on the outstanding balance.

Can I settle my credit card debts early?

Yes, you can. There is no early settlement fee for this balance transfer plan!
