It's very simple. When in Malaysia, you can make purchases locally using Malaysian Ringgit. Just swipe or transact and you're good to go.
When you want to purchase something let's say from Amazon.com, you can pay for the items in foreign currency as well.
For example, if you have chosen a USD500 item from the website, bank will deduct the amount in USD from your HSBC Everyday Global Account - with no hidden charges.
However, if you don't have sufficient amount of foreign currencies in your account, the bank will convert it automatically and charged the items in MYR instead.
Meanwhile for existing HSBC Premier and HSBC Advance customers, you can withdraw or transact automatically in foreign currencies with ZERO overseas transaction fees.

- JPY400 per transaction

Can I apply for HSBC Everyday Global Account?
Yes, for sure. As long as you're 18 years old and above, you are eligible to open the HSBC Everyday Global Account.
Plus, there's no minimum initial deposit required. Meaning you can put in any amount that you desire to open this savings account.
