What are the options for fixed deposit duration?
There are 5 different deposit tenures that you can choose from, being 12, 24, 36, 48 and 60 months. You can start as small as RM1,000 which is the minimum placement required and watch your investment grows steadily.
Fixed deposit receipt will not be given upon placement but, more interestingly, you'll receive a quarterly statement with the records of all transactions and activities.
If you are in need of emergency fund, early partial withdrawal of fixed deposit placement can be made at any branch with the condition that you must withdraw at least RM3,000 or in the multiples of RM3,000. Should your fixed deposit amount is below RM3000, any withdrawal must be done in full.
Do I still earn any interest if I withdraw from my fixed deposit before maturity?
It depends on when the withdrawal is made, your withdrawn amount won't be entitled to any interest earning if it's maintained in the account for less than 3 months. Otherwise, you will get half of the interest accumulated and any interest earned will be credited into your Junior Savings Account on a monthly basis.
How does the Junior Debit Card work?
It works exactly like a usual debit card that allows your child to swipe and withdraw cash anywhere via ATM. But, the debit card it's tagged to a separate prepaid account that the parents can monitor.
To sustain its usability, parents can perform top up easily using an ATM, cash deposit machine and over-the-counter. You can also subscribe to an auto reload facility which will be triggered whenever the balance of the prepaid account falls below RM50.
The auto reload amount must be in the multiples of RM50 starting from a minimum of RM50 up to a maximum of RM500.
What is the age requirement to open a 3-in-1 Junior Account?
It's pretty simple. Your child (the beneficiary) must be below the age of 18 years old to qualify and the application must be made by the parents or legal guardian as the primary accountholder.
