Why should I open Maybank2u Savers?
Maybank2u Savers is a savings account that pays a base interest rate on your balance automatically, plus the chance to earn extra bonus interest of up to 6% p.a. by completing simple banking transactions monthly, known as 'Missions'.
The more you bank with Maybank, the more you can earn. Completing your monthly deposit requirement unlocks the bonus rate, and stacking on extra Missions, such as credit card spend or bill payments, pushes you up the bonus tiers.
To open an account at any Maybank branch, you will need RM250 as an initial deposit. If you're opening an account online, the initial deposit is only RM100.

You will be provided with several digital banking options, such as:
- Passbookless - save printing cost and tree cutting via Maybank2u internet banking, where you can check your statement, perform fund transfers, pay bills, etc;
- MAE by Maybank2u mobile apps installed on your smartphone for those who are always on the go;
- Kawanku Phone Banking for a more secure and personalised experience;
- Maybank Debit Card for unlimited cash withdrawals and payment of goods and services (some say it's better than paying with cash!)
On top of these everyday features, you can stack up to three Eligible Missions a month, namely credit card spend, Pay & Reload (bill payment, JomPAY, prepaid reload, QR Scan & Pay), auto-financing instalment, and property financing instalment, to climb the bonus interest tiers, after fulfilling your Mandatory Deposit Mission first.
Who can apply for a Maybank2u Savers account?
Any individuals 18 years old and above, with a valid IC, Police ID, or passport, can apply for a Maybank2u Savers account. This account is for individuals only and is not available for joint account holders or business entities.
Other than that, you will need to deposit a minimum of RM250 (if you open an account via a Maybank branch) or RM100 (if you open an account online) into your new Maybank2u Savers account, and you must maintain a balance of at least RM20 at all times.
Are there fees and charges I should know?
For existing Maybank customers, your Debit Card will be automatically linked to your Maybank2u Savers account, whereas there is no fee for the issuance of a Debit Card for new-to-bank customers.
Life is full of choices; if you want to perform transactions over-the-counter (OTC) at a branch instead of online, such as withdrawals under RM5,000, a RM5 service charge applies, since these can be done via Maybank2u or any Maybank kiosk instead.
If you wish to close your account within 3 months from the date of activation, a service charge of RM20 will be incurred.
A few other fees worth noting are that closing your account over the counter also incurs a RM5 service charge (account closure can be done online for free via Maybank2u), and a lost or damaged ATM card will be replaced for RM12.
Is it safe to keep my money in this savings account?
Absolutely. In fact, your savings money will be guaranteed by PIDM for up to RM250,000.
