More Information

What do I need to know about this account?

The WISE Savings Account is a regular savings account, with a twist, this account is only available to customers UNDER the age of 18. WISE by Public Bank is a junior savings account, made for the use of children to teach them the values of saving from an early age.

How do I open the account?

It is an incredibly easy account to sign up for. Simply have your NRIC with you and a copy of your child’s birth certificate and NRIC as well. That’s all you need.

You will have to open the account on behalf on your child, with them being not of a legal age to sign contracts and legal documents.

However, the child in question will have full access to the account, especially if they are over the age of 12.

At 12, they will get to hold onto an ATM card attached to this account. You will only need RM20 to open this account.

It is also required that the minimum balance in the account to keep it open is also RM20.

What’s the interest rate?

The interest rates are calculated daily and credited monthly on the 15th of each month.

Are there restrictions?

Yes, but good ones. To encourage more savings and less spending, there is a limit to the number of withdrawals allowed. Which is 6 withdrawals, over the course of 6 months.

A fee will be imposed on withdrawals made over the 6 over the 6 months.
