More Information

A savings account made for the ladies

More often than not, we ladies tend to take care of others more than ourselves, and with our hectic schedules, some of us may forget to squeeze in the time to keep our health in check.

And while you may already have medical coverage that can back you up in times of need, how about a little extra coverage that is complementary and guaranteed just by opening a savings account with UOB Malaysia? Plus, there’s no need for any medical check-ups either.

Specially tailored for the ladies, the UOB Lady’s Savings Account lets you deposit your savings and earn attractive interests while providing you medical protection from six (6) female cancers with high sum coverage of up to RM200,000. The coverage applies to account holders up to 60 years old.

Additionally, you may also enjoy a complimentary health and wellness benefit through an annual medical screening voucher worth up to RM3,100.

Have we piqued your interest yet? Read on to find out more about this savings account.

Complimentary female cancer coverage with UOB Lady’s Savings Account

Upon successful sign-up for the UOB Lady’s Savings Account, you can rest assured that the complementary female cancer coverage is automatically accepted and no underwriting is required. And the more you save, the more coverage you will receive.

The female cancer coverage will solely be dependent on your Monthly Average Balance (MAB) in your Lady’s Savings Account in the previous month.

In the event of death, 10% of the sum coverage will be payable to your nominee if the female cancer coverage is not claimed. Hence, a nominee appointment is important to ensure that the benefit goes to your loved one.

Check out the table below for your easy reference on the interest you’ll get for your savings, the total sum coverage, as well as the package value of the health and wellness benefit.

Past Monthly Average Balance (MAB) Savings (p.a.) Sum Coverage Health & Wellness Benefit* (package value)
RM20 to RM10,000 0.25% RM1,000 -
Up to RM50,000 0.25% RM20,000 RM750**
Up to RM100,000 0.25% RM100,000 RM1,350
Above RM100,000 0.75% RM200,000 RM3,100

*The health/wellness screening voucher will be awarded based on the account holder’s past 6-months Monthly Average Balance (MAB). The calculation period is between January to June and July to December in each calendar year.

**Will be awarded when your 6-months MAB in your account is more than RM30,000.

It is also worth highlighting that you can redeem the health and wellness screening voucher that you acquired at any BP Healthcare centre across Malaysia.

You can click here to have a look at the list of the centres nearest to you.

Is there any additional benefit that I should know of?

Yes. You can enjoy up to a 4x waiver on the MEPS withdrawal fee upon opening your UOB Lady’s Savings Account, as long as you maintain a minimum MAB of RM5,000 in your account.

However, if you have a lower amount than that, the usual RM1 fee will still apply whenever you withdraw at any other banks' ATMs nationwide.

How can I sign up for the UOB Lady’s Savings Account?

Any Malaysian or non-Malaysian female of at least 18 years old and above can open the UOB Lady’s Savings Account.

It’s easier to open an account with UOB's Mighty App, you will need RM500 as the initial deposit, and you can practically do it anywhere and anytime rather than going to the nearest branch.

You are eligible to open a Lady's Savings Account using UOB TMRW App if you are a Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia, possess a MyKad or NRIC issued post-April 2012 (with ghost image), use a local mobile number, and have at least 18 years of age, and holds a current/savings account in another local bank with internet banking access.

Here are the steps:

1. Download the UOB TMRW App and select “Lady’s Savings Account”.

2. Take a picture of your MyKad or NRIC, and perform facial recognition.

3. Complete the e-form as instructed.

4. Set up your online banking and Mighty Secure.

5. Transfer money via DuitNow (Pay-to-Account-Number).

And… you’re done! Your account is now active and you may start performing any transactions.

Can I still open a UOB Lady's Savings Account if I don't meet the above requirements?

Yes! There are a few documents that you'll need to prepare before making your way to your nearest UOB Malaysia branch:

  • MyKad (IC) for Malaysians and Passport for foreigners
  • A copy of your latest water, electricity or phone bill with your name and address clearly stated
  • Letter of Employment or Student Permit for foreigners who are working or studying in Malaysia
  • A minimum initial deposit of RM500
