How do I qualify for the UOB Passbook Savings Account?

As long as you are 18 years old and above, you can apply this UOB account. 

However, this account is not applicable for businesses, clubs or societies.

To start using the account, you are required to deposit an initial amount of RM5000.

Any fees and charges that I should know about?

In the event that you require to replace your passbook, it will be RM10 per book, plus RM10 stamp duty. 

So, make sure you take good care of your savings passbook because it will cost you RM20 for each replacement. 

If you plan to close this account, be sure that you have opened this account for more than 3 months to avoid the RM20 charge.

If at closing, you have a balance of RM10 or less, you balance will be taken by the bank.
