What is i-FlexCover?

Offered by FWD Insurance, the i-FlexCover is a non-participating yearly renewable term life insurance that provides coverage against Death, Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Accidental Death, Accidental TPD, Accidental Death due to Public Conveyance, Accidental Death Outside of Malaysia, as well as Accidental Hospital Income Benefit where you get an allowance per day upon hospitalisation due to accidents.

Why should I choose this life insurance plan?

As its name suggests, the i-FlexCover allows you to adjust your protection plan by upgrading or downgrading your coverage amount following your ever-changing needs, preferences and even budgets. However, you can only do so upon your policy’s next premium payment due date.

If you are interested in adjusting your i-FlexCover plan, you can reach out to FWD Insurance in a few ways such as by giving the Customer Careline a call at 1-300-22-6262, emailing them via [email protected] or through live chat at their website.

Tell me more about the coverage.

There are seven (7) types of coverage you can get from i-FlexCover and each coverage is separated between natural causes or accidental. As for the coverage amount, you are able to benefit between as low as RM5,000 up to the maximum of RM450,000 for different types of coverage. Here’s a brief look at the coverage.

We also would like to highlight a thing or two about the coverage of Accidental Death, Accidental Death due to Public Conveyance, and Accidental Death Outside Malaysia.

In reference to the Product Disclosure Sheet, the mentioned Accidental Deaths must be due to accidental bodily injury which takes place within thirty (30) days from the date of the accident. Plus, if a single event triggers multiple accidental death claims, the Accidental Death Benefit with the highest Benefit Amount will be payable.

The Accidental Hospital Income Benefit, on the other hand, is subject to a lifetime limit of one hundred (100) days. For full details about the coverage, please check out the Product Disclosure Sheet.

How much premium do I have to pay and for how long?

The number of premiums you have to pay, including the duration, will solely depend on the coverage amount or sum assured that you have chosen upon subscribing. Regardless, you can take a look at a table illustrating the premiums in the Product Disclosure Sheet.

Are there any fees or charges?

No, you don’t have to pay fees or charges upon signing up for FWD Insurance i-FlexCover.

What are the exclusions of i-FlexCover?

There are some exclusions under the i-FlexCover plan and we will list a couple of them below. To check the other major exclusions, please refer to your Policy Contract or Policy Wording or the Product Disclosure Sheet.

  • The Death benefit is NOT payable if the Life Assured commits suicide within 1 year from the Commencement Date or from the date the coverage is upgraded, dies by the hand of justice, or commits or attempts to commit an unlawful act under Malaysian Law.
  • Accidental Hospital Income Benefit (HIB) is NOT payable if the accident is caused by assault or murder, riot, suicide, being under the influence of alcohol, drug abuse, pregnancy, pre-existing disabilities, dangerous pursuits and occupation-inclusive but not limited to boxing and diving, sickness or disease which the Life Assured was suffering from or diagnosed before the policy issue date.

Am I eligible to apply for i-FlexCover?

Any Malaysians, Singaporeans or Bruneians aged between 16 to 55 years old are eligible to apply for i-FlexCover. The coverage term is up to 61 years old with the last policy renewal age of 60 years old.

How to make a claim?
