What is the ACE Jerneh Travel Insurance Ruby Plan about?
This travel insurance policy provides you with compensation in the event of accidents and illnesses that require medical attention, treatment or results in permanent disablement or death during your travels within the period of the insurance.
Who is eligible to apply for the ACE Jerneh Travel Insurance Ruby Plan?
The person insured must be someone with national identification documentations, which includes Malaysian citizens, permanent residents, valid work permit and employment pass holders, dependent pass holders, long-term social visit pass holders or student pass holders of at least 18 years old on the effective date of the insurance policy.
If you wish to be insured for a single trip, you will need to be between 18 to 80 years of age. For an annual plan, only those between the age of 18 to 80 years old can apply, with an option to renew until the age of 80.
How do I make an insurance claim for this insurance policy?
If anything untoward happens to you when you’re covered under this policy, you or your legal representative must give a written notice to ACE Jerneh within 30 days after it has happened. What are the documents that I need to provide when making a claim?
The 3 main required documents are the completed claim form, confirmed flight itinerary and boarding pass. Depending on your type of claim, the required documents are as follows:
- For travel inconveniences – you’ll need to get a Property Irregularity report for your baggage delay, or a notification from your airline or transport carrier confirming the delay, overbooking or the rerouting of the flight.
- For medical related claims – do ask for and keep the original medical receipts and doctor’s diagnosis.
- For loss related incidents – like losing your laptop, tablet computer, credit card, travel documents or money, you’ll need to lodge a police report within 24 hours.
- For a list of procedures for claims, it’s always a good idea to have a quick read through the policy book before you travel.
I'm concerned about flight delays. Can I claim for this?
You can claim for any flight delay for both domestic and international travels. For international flights, the amount is RM200 for every 6 hours up to a maximum of RM3,600, whereas for domestic flights, it’s only RM150 for every 6 hours up to a maximum of RM600 payable.
Can I cancel my policy and get a refund?
You can cancel your policy by giving a written notice to ACE Jerneh, but bear in mind that for single-trip policies, you won’t get a refund of your premium. If your policy is an annual policy, the refund of premium is based on the scale of short period rate which is available in your policy book.
