Why should I choose AIG's Student Assist Classic Travel Insurance?
You should really consider getting this policy if you are planning to study abroad in the near future.
Other than the conventional coverage for injuries, death, and disability, students will be compensated for any study interruption caused by any unforeseen events such as the death of a parent.
Your policy term can range from 6 months and up to a maximum of 3 years. You will need to renew your insurance cover annually.
Does that mean students of any age can apply for this policy?
Only full-time students enrolled in a recognised educational institution of higher learning aged between 15 and 45 years of age can sign up for this insurance policy.
How do I make an insurance claim with AIG?
The first thing to remember is that you will have to notify the company within 30 days from the date of loss. Here are other supporting documents that you will need:
- Police report and investigation findings
- Doctor's medical reports such as diagnosis note, proof for duration of hospitalisation, Driver's license (for motor accident), post-mortem report and death certificate.
- Medical Specialist Report regarding disablement
- Letter of Administration/ Distribution Order and a copy of Identity Card with supporting relationship of the person(s) receiving the policy benefits payment for death.
All claims will be paid directly to you. In the case of your death, the claims can be paid to your estate or nominee.
Can I cancel my policy and receive a refund?
Yes, you can cancel your policy by giving AIG a 30 days written notice via registered mail.
You will be entitled to a premium refund on the unexpired period of coverage.
Will my travel insurance premiums increase the longer my policy term?
Yes, it is only natural! The longer the policy term you choose, the higher your premium.
It will become more expensive when you add optional benefits such as death and total permanent disability.
Premium payments can be made by cash, cheque, or credit card.
