What is the AIG Student Assist Premier all about?
To all those enthusiastic Malaysian students who want to expand their horizons and go overseas to pursue their education elsewhere, stop for a moment and pick up a student travel insurance policy to protect yourself on this adventure. The policy is designed for anyone who intends to travel outside of Malaysia to pursue their education.
What does the policy cover?
Unlike most traditional travel insurance plans, this one is made to work long term and cross international borders. So much like a personal accident cover, it will provide support for death and permanent disability in the event of an accident. The policy will also offer you protection for incidents like street crime, and assault. You never know what could happen and when, especially in a foreign country you are less than familiar with.
As for your education itself, this insurance policy will cover your fees in the event that your education sponsor dies or is disabled while you are on your journey. Your fees will also be covered if your studies are affected for some reason due to travel problems.
You will have a medical cover for injuries related to accidents that might happen while you are overseas. If you require emergency evacuation or transportation back to Malaysia while hospitalized, those expenses will also be covered by the policy. Along with that, you’ll have a visiting allowance for your family to come see you while your seeking treatment for an accident.
Are there regular travel benefit covers?
Of course, there are, otherwise this isn’t a proper travel insurance plan. With this policy, you will receive a travel inconvenience benefit that you can apply for claiming the loss of luggage and personal belongings while en-route. Loss of passport, money, travel delays and third-party liability are also covered in this clause.
Who is eligible for this plan?
The policy is open to individuals mostly, between the ages of 15 and 45 years old. You will of course need to provide proof of your intention to pursue your education to get the policy. Finally if you are travelling as a family to escort one or more of your kids and get them settled in a new country for school, then you can purchase this policy for them even if you are travelling together.
