How is the MHinsure Premier different from the Basic and Value plans?
Of course, being the more expensive option, you will be entitled to a higher insured amount of up to RM500,000 on medical and dental expenses overseas for adults below the age of 70 - that's almost twice as much as that of the Value plan amount.
Additionally, you will receive a higher amount of RM150 per day on your hospital stay, up to a maximum of RM1,500.
And finally, unlike the Basic and Value plans, any travel interruption or cancellation will be reimbursed up to the actual value of your trip!
Does this insurance policy come together with my MAS flight booking?
For a little extra cash, you can add the MHinsure to your travel itinerary with Malaysian Airlines.
Even if you're flying on a different carrier, you can still purchase this travel insurance as a standalone policy.
As stated in the terms and conditions, the policy is available to any Malaysian resident traveling on any airline from or operating in Malaysia.
Who is eligible to apply for the Etiqa MHinsure Premier?
You can purchase the MHinsure Premier as soon as you reach the tender age of 18.
If traveling with family, the age limit for children coverage is set at 21 years old, provided that they are still studying in tertiary education.
Otherwise, those over the age of 18 years old would need to purchase their own policy.
How many days can I be protected per trip?
That would depend on where you will be traveling! If you opt for the domestic plan, you will be covered for a maximum of only 30 days per trip.
For your travels abroad, you can be insured up to a maximum of 180 days.
For frequent users of the MHinsure annual plan, you will receive up to 90 protection days per trip.
How do I submit a claim?
Here are the steps that you need to follow to successfully make a claim:
1. Download the Claim Form here, and complete the relevant sections.
3. Attach all supporting documents, as required by the relevant section of the claim form
4. Email these documents, along with the complete claims form to: [email protected]
Your claim will be settled within 10 working days from the time they receive it. As a reminder, make sure to keep all original receipts and claims form for your own records.
Can I cancel this policy and get a refund of the premiums paid?
Yes, of course you can, as long as you do it within 14 days from the approval date.
This is often referred to as a "free look" period. You will be entitled to receive a full refund as long as you have not started traveling or made a claim.
