What is this Etiqa Traveller Care Plan Silver?
This insurance policy from Etiqa will provide compensation for any injuries, permanent disability or death, including medical expenses due to an accident or illness. Last but not least, you will be provided coverage for any travel inconvenience with help from Etiqa travel assistance for International trips. The Traveller Care Plan Silver is the cheapest plan compared to both the Gold and Platinum options, and you cannot claim for loss of personal money, travel documents, or child care services.

Who is eligible to apply?
All Malaysians, including permanent residents and those with legal work permits are eligible to apply. You will have to be at least 18, but no exceeding 70 years old. To be entitled to senior citizen coverage, the age range is 71 to 80 years old. As for children under your care, they can be as young as 45 days old up to a maximum of 23 years old - that is if they're still studying.
How to make a claim?
You can call 24 hour Travel and Medical Assistance Helpline at 03-2161 0270. Remember to file all original receipts and supporting documents such as boarding pass and police report to support your claim.
When does the cover start and end for each trip?
That would depend on where you will be enjoying your holiday or business trip - is it an international or domestic trip?
For an international trip, your coverage will start 6 hours prior to your departure time as stated in your booking receipt for a direct journey to your destination, and will cease when you arrive at your home in Malaysia, or six hours after arrival at Malaysian immigration.
As for a domestic trip, your coverage will start from the effective date stated on your insurance policy and will stop upon arrival at your home residence.
What is the maximum period of coverage for single trip and annual trip?
An annual trip will of course have longer coverage days compared to a policy for a one time trip, as stated below:
- 30 consecutive days for single trip.
- 90 consecutive days for annual trip
If I cancel my insurance policy, can I claim a refund?
Per Trip Plan:
You are allowed to cancel your policy at any time by submitting an official notice in writing to Etiqa before starting your journey journey. It is possible to get a full refund!
Annual Trip Plan:
You are allowed to cancel your policy at any time by giving official notice in writing to the insurance company. Unfortunately, you will only be entitled to a partial premium refund.
