What do I need to apply for the Kurnia Care Travel Insurance Plan 1?
Well, you will need to be either be a Malaysian citizen, permanent resident or work permit holder residing within Malaysia - as long as you're not an illegal alien!
To begin your application, you will need to fill in a simple registration form with details such as your full name, date of birth, NRIC number and address.
After which, you will need to fill in a separate form detailing if you have any long term medical conditions such as heart disease, or diabetes.
Once your application is approved, you will start paying the premium.
Your premium amount will vary depending on how long you wish to be covered for and where you plan on travel.
What is covered by this travel insurance policy?
This travel insurance policy covers a wide variety of traveling related accidents and emergencies such as accidental death and permanent disablement, medical expenses, baggage delay (you're in Paris, and your bags in Frankfurt anyone?), flight delay and cancellation, emergency medical evacuation, loss of travel deposit and many more.
Such travel mishaps are covered locally too but only limited to journey from East Malaysia to West Malaysia and vice versa.
What is not covered by this travel insurance policy?
There are several situations that will not be covered by this travel insurance policy:
1) Any injury or death that is self-inflicted
2) Any pre-existing conditions such as diabetes
3) Any injury or death while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
4) Injury or death while doing dangerous professional activities such as sky diving and bungee jumping. "Professional" means that you are paid to perform such activities.
5) Any complications or death resulting from sexually transmitted diseases.
Is my family covered by this policy?
Kurnia care travel insurance does not offer family cover.
This insurance only applies to individual coverage, so you will have to buy a separate package for each family member.
What if my home gets broken into while I'm on holiday?
Don't worry because under Kurnia Travel care, you will be compensated if your home gets burgled while you are off on holiday.
Remember to inform your neighbours you're off on holiday!
Is there a cancellation fee for this product?
If your coverage is under the "per trip" plan, then you cannot request a refund of the paid premium once the policy is issued.
If your coverage is under the "annual" plan, then you must give Kurnia at least 7 days' notice via registered letter.
The letter must be sent from your last known address otherwise your request will be ignored.
After Kurnia has received the letter of cancellation, then the policy can be cancelled at any time by the insured person.
The insured person will be given a refund of any premiums paid for unused coverage.
Can I make a claim if I am injured in a terrorist attack?
No, this policy does not cover injuries suffered during acts of terror.
