Who is eligible to apply for the RHB Travel Lite Insurance?
The RHB Travel Lite Insurance policy is available for children between the age of 31 days and 18 years. Coverage for your child can be lengthen to the age of 23 if he or she is still studying, not married, and not employed. To be classified as an adult, you must be at least 19 to 80 years old at the time of application.
How do I report a claim for this policy?
It is important to note that this travel insurance from RHB follows the principle of Cash Before Cover (CBC). Before you can be covered, you must first pay the insurance premium owed to RHB.
You must Inform RHB regarding your claim no later than 15 days after policy expiry or upon your return to Malaysia, whichever is sooner. You must of course provide your insurer with original certificates, receipts, invoice, and other supporting documents as proof of claim.
Can I continue to receive treatment in Malaysia for an injury or illness suffered overseas?
Unfortunately, you cannot! However, you can of course claim for overseas medical treatment and hospitalisation for up to RM100,000. Additionally, you will have the benefit of emergency medical evacuation and repatriation for up to RM100,000 as well.
But what does that mean? Basically, your transportation expenses to the nearest hospital and back to Malaysia will be paid for, as long as it does not exceed the maximum amount - you will also be accompanied by a qualified medical attendant.
Can I cancel my policy anytime?
Yes, you may do so. You will have to provide RHB with a written notice. A word of causion - no premium will be refunded upon cancellation!
What are the major exclusions under this policy?
This Insurance will not insure you against death, permanent disablement, bodily injury, any hospitalisation caused in any way by the following: -
- Suicide or attempted suicide
- Participation in professional sports;
- While engaging in an unlawful activity e.g. breaking into someone's house!
- Any pregnancy complications
- Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome ( AIDS)
