About You

If you’re confident in your ability to write efficiently, conduct in-depth topic research, and engage with your readers – YOU may be who we’re looking for. As a Content Writer, you will be creating editorial content for RinggitPlus on the ins-and-outs of personal finance as well as online shopping deals that can help the everyday Malaysian save money. An understanding and a keen interest in financial products will be useful to craft compelling content that meets the goals of both the editorial team and the company.

You will work closely with the Chief Editor and the editorial team on tasks that are designed to help grow your career as a journalist or content writer and lay the foundations for future growth into senior Editorial or Marketing positions. As part of the Content Writer’s growth, you will also be exposed to different parts of the business, from affiliate marketing, branded content, social media, script writing, video production, and other content and editorial activities.

Your capabilities will see more Malaysians reading your work and contribute to the company’s success.

Your Day-to-Day

• Write content that contributes to our editorial KPIs – this includes site traffic growth and brand awareness of RinggitPlus products
• Collaborate with team members to brainstorm relevant content and coordinate its publication
• Attend media events and provide coverage where assigned
• Research, conceptualize, write, proofread, and edit online and offline content
• Ensure accuracy and quality of work
• Actively monitor current news and learning up new subjects for content creation
• Stay on top of online shopping trends and take ownership of affiliate marketing content
• Ensure content complies with corporate image and legal publishing laws

Your Know-How

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the media/journalism will be an advantage
• Experience in affiliate content marketing, WordPress, and Google Analytics is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and proofread error-free content (must provide writing samples of previous work done)
• Possess a strong understanding of online content writing considerations from an SEO and social media perspective
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Has a strong passion to continuously learn and improve on technological platforms and marketing strategy. A degree or experience in communications, journalism or PR is a plus.
• Excellent teamwork skills
