Frequently Asked Questions about Zurich Flex Medical

Things you might want to know

What is the Flex Medical all about?

The Flex Medical is one of the more comprehensive medical protection plans offered by Zurich Insurance. It offers you coverage up to the age of 100 and have no overall lifetime limit. This way you are good to enjoy unlimited medical protection for as long as you are covered under the policy.

Also, this policy comes with a selection of 4 plans within it. Each with varying premiums and coverage schemes. Select the plan you are most comfortable with and have reassurance that Zurich will help pay your medical expenses according to the plan you choose. There is no co-insurance or deductible feature with this plan.

How much does the plan cover?

With the 4 plans to choose from each plan covers all hospital and medical expenses in relation to housing, use of hospital equipment, supplies and services. All the plans also cover to a certain degree pre- and post-hospitalization. If you require hospitalization, all pre-hospitalization diagnostic tests and specialist consultations will be covered by the insurance company.

On that note, you will also have access to post-hospitalization treatment within 90 days of your discharge. Apart from that, there are also a few out-patient benefits that you might want to take note of. If you so required it, the plans all cover costs for kidney dialysis treatment, cancer treatments, physiotherapy and emergency accidental outpatient care.

Following that, for patients with small children, the policy offers a child guardian benefit for day care. Along with that you will also have the benefits of home nursing care, if you have no one to care for you, post-hospitalization.

Any other benefits?

Yes of course. Zurich also offers an Emergency Assistance Programme to anyone who takes up this policy. It will give you the tools you need to gather the care you need in the event of an emergency. The coverage offered has a benefit of up to USD 1 Million available to all plans.

Who can apply for this policy?

Anyone over the age of 18 can legally pick up this plan as and when they need. However, to eligible for the protection, children need to be over 30 days old and the age band continues till the age of 69 years old.

To enjoy coverage up the age of 100 you will need to have been registered with a policy before your 69th birthday. After that it will only be a matter of renewing the policy contract every year.

Do I get a medical card?

Sure you do! To avoid the hassle of getting into a hospital, especially when there’s an emergency, simply flash your Zurich Medical Card and let them handle the rest. Take note that to enjoy this cashless admission you will need to be at a Zurich Panel Hospital.
