What is BIMA Life Takaful Plan?

BIMA Life is a whole life Takaful plan that is underwritten by AmMetLife Takaful Berhad. It is a monthly Takaful product that offers Takaful protection upon death and it pays a lump sum amount upon death either accidental or non-accidental of the insured person during the term of the policy.
In the Malaysian market, BIMA is a leading mobile-based insurance and health service that works together with renowned mobile operators such as Celcom and Digi to create a seamless platform for you to access product information, your insurance plan subscription, cancellation, claim management and customer service whenever necessary.
What are the benefits?
If you're looking for an affordable whole life Takaful that covers you and your family in the case of death by illness or accident, BIMA Life is your answer as it offers you contributions starting from as low as RM5 every month with death benefit cover amount up to RM100,000. There are four (4) plans that you can choose from:

Additionally, you may benefit from the cover amount stated above should you pay the contribution in full every month. If you only pay half of the contribution in a month, the death benefit cover amount for the following month will be in proportion to the share of the contribution you paid.
For example if you take up the BIMA 5 Plan, and you only pay RM2.50 which is half of the contribution every month, you can only get a Takaful coverage amount of RM10,000 (50% of the total death benefit) in the following month.
Please note that the contribution is not guaranteed, and BIMA reserves the right to revise the contribution. BIMA will notify you on any changes to the contribution with at least 30 days notice.
How do I pay my contributions?
If you are a prepaid subscriber of either Celcom or Digi, you can easily pay your monthly contribution via deduction from your mobile phone airtime balance. You can choose a daily, weekly or monthly payment plan with each comes with different number of installments as follows:
Daily payment plan: 20x installments
Weekly payment plan: 4x installments
Monthly payment plan: 1x installment
If you wish to use other payment channel, you can do so by using your Debit or Credit Card to pay your monthly contributions. However, you cannot choose payment plans for this option as your monthly contribution payment will be collected every month by BIMA instead.
Not to mention, BIMA Life does not impose any fees and charges. But, 64% of your total contribution will be charged as Wakalah Fee.
Who can take up BIMA Life Takaful Plan?
To be eligible for the purchase of this plan, you must be at least 18 years of age and the application of BIMA Life Takaful Plan is open to anyone no older than 50 years old (nearest birthday) on the date of registration. After which the policy will run on a renewal basis.
