Who is eligible to apply for this plan?
Malaysian citizens, permanent residents of Malaysia and Malaysian work permit holders (and their dependents) are eligible to apply for the Citibank SmartTraveller Annual Platinum plan.
You must be between 18 and 69 years old.
How is the SmartTraveller Annual Platinum different from the Gold?
Benefits offered by both versions of this plan are identical.
The main difference between these two plans is that the sum insured by the Platinum is higher than the Gold; ranging anywhere from 2 to 1.5 times more.
This is with the exception of the emergency medical evacuation benefits, where it is unlimited for both plans.
As a result of the additional sum insured, you would expect to pay a higher premium - while this is true, the difference you have to pay only hovers around RM70 - which isn't a whole lot more than the Gold plan.
Who is the underwriter for this plan?
Citibank's SmartTraveller Annual Platinum plan is underwritten by AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad.
I'm concerned about flight delays, can I claim for this?
Yes you can! Worry no longer, as you can certainly claim for any flight delay you might have to misfortune of encountering.
You will be reimbursed RM200 for the first 6 hours of delay and RM300 for every consecutive 6 hours after, up to a maximum cap of RM3,200.
That's a total of 66 hours of delay covered!
While not exactly a whole lot, Citibank's SmartTraveller Annual Plan also has you covered for any cancellations made on your trip due to the delay with a cap of RM500.
Can I cancel my policy?
You may cancel the policy by giving written notice to Citibank.
If you cancel your policy within 14 days of making the payment, your premium will be refunded without interest.
If cancellation is made 14 days after payment, any refund of premium will be based on the conditions stated in the policy contract.
Any other special coverage offered by Citibank's SmartTraveller Annual Platinum plan?
Yes there are. Terrorism, scuba diving and winter sports are covered without the need of having to pay any additional premium.
