Who is eligible to apply for this plan?
Malaysian citizens, permanent residents of Malaysia and Malaysian work permit holders (and their dependents) are eligible to apply for the Citibank SmartTraveller Annual Platinum plan.
You must be between 18 and 69 years old.
How is the SmartTraveller Annual Platinum different from the Gold?
Benefits offered by both versions of this plan are identical.
The main difference between these two plans is that the sum insured by the Platinum is higher than the Gold; ranging anywhere from 2 to 1.5 times more. This is with the exception of the emergency medical evacuation benefits, where it is unlimited for both plans.
As a result of the additional sum insured, you would expect to pay a higher premium - while this is true, the difference you have to pay only hovers around RM70 - which isn't a whole lot more than the Gold plan.
Who is the underwriter for this plan?
Citibank's SmartTraveller Annual Platinum plan is underwritten by AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad.
